Presently LSI is inviting proposals in Life Science from all researchers and entrepreneurs who have great ideas that they think can be commercialized.

The Biotech Park has developed a Lab facility for providing Quality testing and Training programs. It has been successfully conducting Short and Long Term Training programs for College students as a means of providing much needed hands-on experience and to generate a revenue streams for the Park.

The Biotech Park plans to develop this into an Entrepreneurial facility. Based on this we invite (application from) WOMEN SCIENTISTS aided with managerial skills and capable of making small-scale investment, to independently take up the functioning of the LAB.

Opportunities available to the aspiring Entrepreneur:

Provide Short and Long Term training modules for College students and others.

Provide Microbiological Testing facility to other production units within the
Biotech Park and outside.

Work for Research Projects.

M. Tech in Ocean Technology sponsored by the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT)

M. Tech in Ocean Technology and Management is a full-time four semester program sponsored by the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Ministry of Earth Sciences to meet the needs of trained manpower in various ocean technology related projects in India.

Students opting for this program should have background either in engineering or in science and they should be interested in a career in technology, business and management aspects of ocean engineering systems which include transportation, environmental management, resource development, mining, ports and harbours, public policy, maritime security and marine scientific research. Ocean Engineering activities require a multi disciplinary approach involving technical and administrative management of large and complex marine systems in coastal as well as deep ocean waters.

Towards this, in addition to technology, ideas about management principles, ocean policy and law find place in the specially tailored curriculum. An important component of this program is shipboard training designed to give the students a feel for the sea and an opportunity to conduct scientific research in sea.

Eligibility: Candidates should have first class or 60% (55% in case of SC/ST) in Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering or Technology OR Master’s degree in Oceanography. Marine Sciences, Ocean Science and Technology, Applied Mathematics, Applied Geology, Geophysics, and Physics OR any other equivalent degree approved by the Advisory Committee with minimum 2 years experience in NIOT or in an organization approved by NIOT. Fresh candidates with GATE score may also apply for a few seats approved by NIOT.
